This policy explains how Compayne Capital Ltd ("Compayne Capital", "we", "us" or "our") collects, uses and protects personal data when you visit https://www.compayne.com (the "site") or otherwise get in touch with us. It is written to be read alongside our Cookies Policy and our Disclaimer.

Who we are

What personal data we collect

We collect personal data in two ways:

• Information you give us directly. When you use our contact form we collect your name, email address, phone number (if provided), the capacity in which you are contacting us (business owner, adviser, investor or other) and the content of your message. If you email or call us directly, we collect whatever information you choose to share with us.
• Information collected automatically. Like most websites, our hosting provider logs standard technical data for security and operational purposes, such as IP address, browser and device type, and pages visited. We do not currently run any analytics, advertising or tracking software on this site. If that changes, this policy and our cookie consent banner will be updated accordingly, and non-essential cookies will not be set without your consent.

How we use your personal data

We use personal data only for the following purposes:

• To respond to enquiries submitted through our contact form or sent to us directly;
• To assess and progress a potential investment opportunity, where you have contacted us about your business;
• To maintain the security, performance and proper functioning of the site; and
• To comply with our legal and regulatory obligations.

Our legal basis for processing enquiry data is our legitimate interest in responding to enquiries and evaluating potential opportunities, and, where an enquiry may lead to a transaction, to take steps at your request prior to entering into a contract. Where we rely on legitimate interests, we have considered that this processing is proportionate and does not override your rights and interests.

Who we share it with

We do not sell personal data. We share it only with the following categories of recipient:

• Service providers who process data on our behalf and under our instructions, such as our email-delivery provider (used to route contact-form submissions to us) and our website hosting provider;
• Google, where your browser loads content embedded from Google on our site — specifically the web fonts used throughout the site and, on our Contact page, an embedded Google Map. Loading these means your browser connects directly to Google, which may process technical data such as your IP address as a result. This is governed by Google's Privacy Policy; and
• professional advisers, regulators or authorities, where we are required to by law.

International transfers

Some of the service providers referred to above may process data outside the UK. Where this happens, we take reasonable steps to ensure an adequate level of protection is in place, for example through the UK's international data transfer safeguards or equivalent contractual protections.

How long we keep it

We keep contact-form and enquiry data for as long as is reasonably necessary to respond to you and, where relevant, to pursue a potential opportunity, and for a limited period afterwards in case of follow-up correspondence. We then delete or anonymise it, unless we are required to retain it for longer to meet a legal, accounting or regulatory obligation.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law, you have the right to:

• access the personal data we hold about you;
• ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete data;
• ask us to delete your data, in certain circumstances;
• ask us to restrict or object to our processing of your data;
• ask us to provide your data in a portable format; and
• withdraw consent at any time, where we rely on consent.

Security

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal data against unauthorised access, loss or misuse. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to keep the data we hold appropriately protected.

Children's privacy

This site is intended for business audiences and is not directed at children.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time, for example as our use of third-party tools changes or as we finalise our website hosting, analytics and email arrangements.
